There's never been more options and ideas for planning your special day, but here at the Reikart House, hospitality is our specialty, so we've come up with the top trends and tips for making your big day an event to remember.
Top 2019 Wedding Trends:
Fancy Foliage: Greenery continues to pop up, but your foliage doesn't just have to be outside in a field. Bring florals with a natural, whimsical design indoors to create an organic and lush vibe. Buffalo's newest cut flower farm and wedding floral design studio, Heirloom Soul Florals, has certainly stolen our hearts with their unexpected whimsy and textural designs.
Bring in the Drones: Video continues to take the place of traditional photography, even in our social media threads. To capture a new perspective and maintain steady motion, you'll see many videographers using drones!
Balloon walls. An alternative to the flower walls of years past, colorful balloons covering entire walls and windows is a top wedding trend in 2019. Play with different color combinations and sizes of balloons to create a custom look.
Mix & Match: Menswear is stepping up its game and taking center stage, with a focus on tailored fits, pops of color, and refined patterns. Mix and matching the groomsmen attire can be a fun way to stand out, especially if you visit Bureau, where the motto is "Fashion is temporary. Tailoring is permanent." A stop by their Elmwood Ave shop is a sure-fire way to find the perfect balance to create your dream wedding look.
Delectable Details: From illustrated invitations and statement place cards to creating your own scented candle, there's never been so many ways to transform every detail of your wedding's ambiance. The hardest part of creating that "wow" moment for your guests is going to be deciding what you want to feature!
Tips From The Experts:
We sat down with our sales and event planning team to give you an insider's look into what it takes to make a wedding day happen. They shared some spectacular tips, including:
Get creative with your favors. We have all been to weddings that we get a silly trinket that ends up in the junk drawer in your kitchen; my biggest suggestion if you are going to make the investment is to invest in something that people are going to use. You can find establishments to brew your own signature beer, create a special wine blend, coffee roast/blend, olive oil and vinegar or whatever speaks to you as a couple.
Late Night Stations are still very popular. You can put your own creative spin on these late-night treats whether it's a food item that the couple loves to eat together or personalized packaging for your guests to take their treats home.
Make sure you add special touches to your day, whether it be a signature drink, memorable late-night station, centerpiece or favor. It's those special touches that make your guests remember the "best wedding they were ever at," so make sure they are personal and unique.
Create the wedding of your dreams. Certainly, you need to be considerate of friends and family that are attending the wedding, especially with dietary restrictions but don't let that group of guests limit your wedding vision. I always suggest to my couples that they plan the wedding of their dreams and not worry about other people's thoughts and opinions.
